New Proposals, New Funding: Your Update from Sacramento
Dear Friends,
We’re back in Sacramento after one week of Recess. My final year in the Senate will be focused on carrying bills that:
- Improve resilience, ratepayer protections, and transparency
- Support disaster survivors
- Expand and maintain access to insurance
- Protect the environment, and more!
You can learn more about each of my current and previous bills here.
I will also be chairing the Senate Committee on Energy, Utilities, and Communications, the Special Committee on International Sporting Events, and the Joint Committee on the Arts, in addition to serving on the following committees: Elections and Constitutional Amendments, Emergency Management, Environmental Quality, Judiciary, and Natural Resources and Water.

We’ve been celebrating a few projects around the district that have recently received state funding!
As part of my $10 billion climate bond approved by the voters, $15 million was provided for the Reimagining La Brea Tar Pits project that will transform how the public can engage with and be inspired by the remarkable climate research and scientific showcases of the museum.
I was excited to additionally secure $1.2 million for the George F Canyon Nature Center renovation, which will provide interactive exhibits and foster a deeper connection between our youth and the many benefits of nature. During construction, nature trails remain open to the public and the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy programming is still active.
If you have any questions on these matters or need any assistance, please feel free to contact our Capitol office at (916) 651-4024 or our district office at (310) 414-8190. You can also follow us on social media or visit our website for additional updates from Sacramento and around the district.
