California’s primary election is less than one month away, and the deadline to register online to vote is May 18.

If you’ve been displaced by the 2025 LA Fires, you may add a temporary mailing address to receive your voting materials without changing your voter registration. The steps are simple:

1. Visit RegisterToVote.ca.gov to re-register to vote.
2. Enter your home address in “Home Address” section.
3. Check the box that says “My mailing address is different from my home address.”
4. Enter your temporary mailing address.

Do not change your home address unless you have permanently relocated. Your home address determines your voting district.
