Happy Earth Day!
Dear Friends,
Happy Earth Day! Today’s celebration reminds us that our planet is a beautiful, irreplaceable gift, and there is perhaps no place to appreciate its beauty more than in California. From our mountains to valleys, forests to beaches, and deserts to the vast Pacific, the surrounding nature and ecosystem sustains life and our precious resources, as long as we act responsibly.
I have long been passionate about protecting our environment. I’m proud to serve as the longstanding co-chair of the Legislature’s Environmental Caucus, former chair and current member of the Environmental Quality Committee, and a member of the Natural Resources & Water Committee—as well as being a father to two young children. Needless to say, protecting our planet has always been an important priority for me. My team and I championed landmark legislation to address the plastic pollution crisis, spearheaded California’s largest-ever investment in climate resilience projects, and continue to work to protect our vulnerable waterways.
Please consider ways to help us protect the environment through the numerous volunteer opportunities throughout the region. You can also get inspired and learn more about the history of Earth Day and some of America’s most dramatic stories of fighting back against pollution through these PBS documentaries.
If you have any questions on this matter or need any assistance, please feel free to contact our Capitol office at (916) 651-4024 or our district office at (310) 414-8190. You can also follow us on social media or visit our website for additional updates from Sacramento and around the district.
All my best,
Ben Allen
Senator, 24th District
