Expanded Mortgage Assistance Available to Disaster Survivors
Dear Friends,
The CalAssist Mortgage Fund will now cover a full year of mortgage payments, up to a total of $100,000, for homeowners who have been impacted by a recent disaster. Additionally, the income eligibility limit for LA County residents was raised to $281,400. This is a significant expansion from the previous level of assistance that provided three months of coverage for a total of $20,000.
Eligibility criteria includes:
- Your primary residence was destroyed or severely damaged by a disaster that occurred before January 8, 2025.
- You have a mortgage or reverse mortgage on the property.
- You only own one residential property.
- The property is a single-family home, condo, or permanently affixed manufactured home (may include up to 4 units).
This is a state-backed mortgage assistance program, and funding is limited. Do not hesitate to apply today.
