SACRAMENTO – On Thursday the California State Senate passed a package of consequential legislation aimed at alleviating the state’s growing housing crisis. The bills in all streamline regulations at the state and local level to speed up housing construction; create new funding for affordable housing; and increase access to housing for working Californians.

SACRAMENTO – The California State Senate today passed Senate Bill 100 by Senate President pro Tempore Kevin de León (D-Los Angeles), which set California on a path to 100 percent clean renewable energy by the year 2045.  The measure was approved on a 25-13 vote.

SACRAMENTO – A bipartisan supermajority in the California Senate today approved Senate Bill 5 (de León), which would put before state voters in November 2018 a $3.5 billion bond measure for flood protection, water supply reliability, and new parks and open space.

SACRAMENTO  – State Treasurer John Chiang and Senate President pro Tempore Kevin de León (D-Los Angeles) said today that California’s Secure Choice program remains on track to provide retirement security to nearly 6.8 million private-sector workers who do not have access to a retirement savings plan from their employer.
