Thursday, July 09, 2009

(Sacramento) Assemblymember Kevin de León (D-Los Angeles) says the State Legislature must go on record as supporting an improvement in per pupil education funding in California. During a recent floor debate Assemblymember de León called on his fellow lawmakers to support Assembly Concurrent Resolution 54. ACR 54 states the Legislatures intent that California must allocate sufficient funds for education to bring per-pupil spending up to or beyond the national average and to a level that covers the actual cost of educating Californias diverse student population. ACR 54 has cleared the Assembly and is awaiting action in the State Senate. Heres more from Assemblymember de León in this Assembly Access video.
